Welcome to our June 2019 Newsletter!
The end of financial year is approaching and a lot is happening at Littlehampton Bricks and Pavers. We have new products being developed – with input from designers and architects- as well as some of our customers using our products in unique ways and on outstanding projects which we can’t wait to see completed!
Top Story
TARONGA ZOO, SYDNEY: 15 Years later
15 years ago Taronga Zoo completed a large redevelopment of the elephants park area and some other zones around the highly acclaimed park. As part of that, they chose to use our Old Red Cobblestone Pavers for their longevity, quality and distinct timeless look.
Taronga Zoo is Sydney’s most visited tourist landmark and an iconic, world famous attraction. This means many millions of visitors have walked on our clay pavers which adorn many of the walkpaths and open areas throughout the redeveloped area. In May 2019 we took the time to revisit the site and see how our pavers were looking (of course, we know our pavers are second to none, so we were quietly confident!)
We think you will agree based on the photos below that 15 years and millions of people, vehicles and machinery later, they still look as vibrant and great as the day they were laid!
JOE RETIRES!
One of our sales team stars; Joe Coleiro will be retiring at the end of June.
Joe joined our team back in April, 2011 which makes it just over 8 years he has been with us. Known for his cheeky smile, friendly demeanour and large library of jokes, Joe will be missed by the team and his customers.
Work History:
Joe has lived and worked all over the world throughout his life including a past life as a lecturer in the UK. His most recent decades have been spent in the Brick Industry. Before joining our team in 2011 Joe worked at Lobethal Bricks, Inglewood Bricks, Falzon Bricks, PGH Bricks & Hallett Bricks in various roles from sales to management.
Joe was instrumental in helping Littlehampton Brick build a presence in Melbourne which is getting stronger and continuing to grow. Joe also helped form many relationships with councils in SA who are choosing to use our clay pavers to adorn their main streets as well as other key projects in townships.
Joe says in retirement he will miss mostly his clients, co-workers and meeting new and interesting people and wishes to thank everyone for their support and friendship over the years.
Plans:
In retirement he plans to do more volunteer community work, short holidays in S.A, more cooking, spending time with Meg and the family, Matthew, Nicholas, Kate, Margaret and his ten granddaughters.
From all of us to you, THANK YOU JOE for your fantastic effort over the years!
We hope you have a great time in retirement. We hope you pop in to see us whenever you’re around!
