A Paving Legend joins the team!
Enter: Kim Mohor.
Kim is a highly skilled local pavior who has been a champion of Littlehampton Bricks and Pavers’ products for over 15 years. You might remember him from a previous newsletter back in 2014 in which he gave us a video interview on-site. You can check it out here.
Kim isn’t just an experienced pavior, but a great South Aussie small business owner. This means he brings a wide range of skills to the team including; employing workers, organising excavations, contractors, building retaining walls (brick, sleeper, interlock and stone), stormwater installations, excavator and bobcat operation, working with private builders on a lot of new and important heritage job sites and more!
Kim also does the paving demonstrations for our customers at the yearly February sale and puts together all our displays of our products. It’s safe to say, he’s done it all!
An opportunity arose and we grabbed it! Kim agreed to join our team recently to cover for our yard supervisor Paul Cavuoto who went on a very-well deserved 5 week overseas holiday. After the 5 weeks spent learning the forklift and other operations of the yard, Kim is now learning the intricacies of sales, customer service and our ordering systems.
Kim is an absolute natural at customer service and working together with people to make sure their project is a success. In the last 15 years our customers have only had excellent things to say about Kim and his work, so we know he’ll be great!
Soon Kim is likely going to be going on the road with our fantastic sales agents Wayne and Joe to further his development. The goal is for Kim to learn all aspects of Littlehampton Bricks and become another flexible addition to our great team!
If you want to say hi to Kim or ask some advice about your project feel free to drop into the office or email: sales@littlehamptonbrick.com.au.
Welcome aboard, Kim!

WAX DESIGN wins award for Victor Harbour Main Street using our Pavers!
WAX Design Studio has won the AILA SA Urban Design Landscape Architecture Awardfor their project revitalizing the Victor Harbour Main street.
“The Victor Harbor Main Street Project looks at rejuvenating the precinct with the aim to achieve a number of key objectives in relation to increasing connectivity, improving amenity, providing activation as well as creating pedestrian and vehicular access within a contemporary public realm that reflects the cultural, character and aspirational values of the town.”
AILA SA had this to say about the award:
“This project is the outcome of four years of considered thinking, planning, consultation and design. It has transformed the heart of Victor Harbor into a bold, pedestrian oriented place that skillfully resolves issues identified through careful research and community engagement. The design has encouraged people to return to the town centre and the social and economic benefits are clearly evident.”
For this project they chose to use our Mahogany pavers. We wrote about this in a previous newsletter which you can view here [LINK]. They created a subtle striped effect but choosing to batch the natural colour variations of our Mahogany pavers together in blocks of similar colours. It was a very clever way to work and use a natural product to create something you couldn’t achieve with conventional materials.
We would like to congratulate the Wax Design team and the Victor Harbour Council. We thank you for choosing to use locally made products and supporting Australian business. There is no substitute for quality, and the success of this project demonstrates that.
