PROJECT SHOWCASE
Project Name: Victor Harbor Main Street Redevelopment
Build Date: 2016 – Present
Landscape Architect: Wax Design
Client: Victor Harbor Council
VICTOR HARBOR is officially now one of Australia’s most beautiful main streets!
The Victor Harbor Main Street redevelopment project has been underway in some capacity for around a decade.
Now as the 3rd stage nears completion and 4th stage is underway, the town has been completely transformed. A huge part of the project was the extensive use of Littlehampton Mahogany Pavers which were ingeniously laid in a special pattern to have a dramatic effect! This masterplan was spearheaded by the multi-awarded Landscape Architecture firm WAX DESIGN.
In this short film we chat with Warwick Keates – Director of Wax Design and Wayne Hunter -National Sales Manager of Littlehampton Bricks and Pavers about the project. We take a look in detail at all the progress that has been made. Have a watch, and let us know what you think!
A genuis ‘outside the box’ paver laying style
Wax design had a genius idea to use the Littlehampton mahogany paver in a unique way which makes it appear to be 2 different products but in fact is all just one. This means there is much less wastage on site and the colours all perfect fit together and compliment each other
Learn about how all the different features of the main street precinct tie into the area
In the film you will learn from Warwick Keates (Director, Wax Design), how they gained inspiration from different historical and local features from the Victor Harbor area and implemented them into the designs throughout the development.
A work in progress…
Over 5000 square metres of Littlehampton Mahogany Pavers have been laid in the Victor Harbor Main Street precinct over the 8+ years of development so far. But this is still technically only the beginning! At the time of writing, stage 3 has been completed and stage 4 is underway, with there being as many as 32 stages in total projected for the plan! Of course many of those may be smaller stages, but it’s impressive none the less!
